What books would you recommend for a mother raising 3 boys and a baby girl without many positive examples and role models to pull knowledge from? I am an avid reader, hungry for new knowledge. Thank you in advance. Katherine.
Stay strong sister. Malcolm X’s story is told in Manning Marable’s book ‘Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention’ and of course in his ‘autobiography’ written by Alex Haley. Both have an enormous impact on most readers, myself included.

If you are checking out Manning Marable’s book, my suggestion is to please also obtain and read two other books: (i) By Any Means Necessary – Malcolm X: Real, Not Reinvented ed. Herb Boyd, and (ii) A Lie of Reinvention: Correcting Manning Marable’s Malcolm X eds. Jared A. Ball and Todd Stevens Burroughs.
Both books help further clarify Malcolm’s pragmatic and theoretical growth, as they include both primary source contributions (from his friends and colleagues) and other fresh research; identification and analysis of factual mistakes in Manning’s text (there are many); as well as, closer examination of some of Manning’s conclusions, which raise questions about Manning’s scholarship.

I appreciate you, my beloved brother. The hate I bear witness towards Tupac, made me sick. I’m old enough to be his father, Tupac was a blessing to the world. The wicked wanted him dead, they feared his courage, knowing the great people who help mold him. I met Queen Afeni at the school of art. I sent a drawing of Tupac to Afeni, through, John Cole. My lady draw it in pencil, half lion face, kenta cloth around the edge the cardboard frame. I honor you as well the family. Broke my heart the way they plotted against Tupac, especially them dues in New York City. Not smith and Wesson, Boot camp clik, and a few other. Long live the memory of Afeni, Tupac, Jonathan Jackson, Conrad George Jackson. Respect for life
